Topics and contents of economy, basic concepts of economy, running of price mechanism, supply, demand, flexibility, methods of national income calculation, money, bank, inflation, comparative superiority and foreign trade.

IYB 299- IYB 332 Introduction to Management (3.0.3) ECTS 4
Management in perspective: the nature and scope of management, development of management concepts. Ethical and social responsibilities of management. Functions of management; planning, organizing, staffing, directing coordinating, reporting and butgeting.

SOS 104 Introduction to Sociology  (3.0.3) ECTS 4
Historical, empirical and analytical approaches to a definition of sociology and delineation of the subject matter of sociology. The place of sociology within the context of other social sciences. A general and brief exasmination of the social methods. Basic concepts explaining the nature of interpersonal relationships, societies and groups. Social system, social structure, social status, social organization, social institutions, social mobility, social stratification, social change, social disorganization, social integration, culture, value, norm, socialization and personality.

The origins of science and the nature of scientific knowledge. The major theories and discoveries which led to modern concepts of science are discussed in the following phases. Science in the ancient civilizations (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greek world). Science in the medieval Europa and the Islamic world. The renaissance and the emergence of modern science. Science during the reformation and industrial revolution. The science of todays world and the future of science in Turkey.

ANT 202 Introduction to Socio- cultural Antropology  (3.0.3) ECTS 4
Culture and evolution concept of culture. Cultural institutions and variables. Cultural patterns and processes. Diffusion, enculturation, acculturation, culturation, changes in the cultural ecology through integration and differentation.

Introduction to ISO 9000-TS 9000 series of quality management. Total quality management. Productivity and quality concepts, productivity, quality and decision structures. Productivity and organization development. Principles of quality and productivity measurements.
